Japonism became hugely popular in the 1870`s influencing artists and designers throughout Europe. The Floating World or Ukiyo-e genre flourished, with artists producing work portraying kabuki actors, sumo wrestlers and folk tales. Many of the earliest works were created as monochromatic image. This fabulous Oak Framed Ukiyo-e influenced print, measuring 70 x 100cm and featuring a sumo with exaggerated hand, has been printed using archival ink on matt Hahnemühle paper.
